Telecommunications services providers also understand this, and therefore have made such services available to their users. Many users are also aware that such services exist — one can transfer or share their air time with other. MTN Share
MTN Share, formerly Share ‘n’ Sell, is MTN product that allows its subscribers to transfer their air time credits to their friends and family. When the service was initially rolled out, it was only available for MTN to MTN customers. But the service has been expanded to include transferring MTN credit to another network user such as 9Mobile. MTN Share is available for new and existing prepaid and postpaid MTN customers. The transfer is free of charge. The minimum you can transfer is N50.00, while maximum is N5,000 in a single transfer. While you can transfer up N50,000 in a day to in multiple transfers to one or more numbers. You can only transfer naira, no kobo.
How to Transfer Airtime from MTN to MTN Numbers
To transfer, you have to change the 4 digit default PIN 0000 to your desired 4 digit PIN. To change the PIN, send the Default New PIN New PIN as SMS to 321. Example: send 0000 4321 4321 to 321.
Another way to change the PIN is by dialing *321*Default PIN*New PIN*New PIN# then send/ok. Example: *321*0000*4321*4321# then press send/ok. You will receive an SMS notifying you that your PIN has been changed successfully.
How to Transfer Airtime Using USSD
To transfer airtime to MTN number using USSD dial *321*Recipient’s phone number*Amount*PIN# then send/press ok. Once successful, you will receive SMS informing you that the transfer was successful.
How to Transfer Airtime Using SMS
To transfer airtime to an MTN number using SMS, send Transfer Recipient’s number Amount PIN to 321.
How to Transfer Airtime from MTN to 9Mobile
MTN Share service is only available for MTN to MTN transfers. So it’s not possible to use MTN Share to transfer airtime to 9Mobile number either by SMS or USSD. But never worry, we have found a 100% working method to transfer airtime from MTN to 9Mobile and vice versa. This method is the only guaranteed method of transferring airtime from MTN to 9Mobile, which is the use of third-party apps. These third-party apps charge transaction fee. How to Use Tintel App to Transfer Airtime from MTN to 9Mobile
Go to PlayStore and download
Launch the app. Follow the prompt and register with your phone number. After registering, open the dashboard and select transfer airtime. At the top select the SIM you want to use, if you have more than one SIM card on your phone.
Input the amount you want to transfer.
Click on Check balance, to ensure you have enough airtime to cover your transfer.
Click Next
Enter the 9Mobile number or any other network number you want to transfer airtime to.
Enter your MTN Share PIN
Press Transfer
Check the status in the History bar to know if it was successful.
